OTHER WORKS

FASSBENDER'S HOMECOMING
#F5 Ford Escort Mk. II at the Rally of the Lakes 2019 in County Killarney, Ireland - Gouache on paper - 230 x 320 mm.
A fun painting for myself, painted in approx. 20 hours. I wanted to experiment with levels of realism vs a more painterly abstract style with a view to giving the work to Michael Fassbender during his appearance on The Graham Norton Show in November 2023.
The car is as detailed as I could get it given size contraints, contrasting with the background which leans heavily on the watercolour-like properties of diluted gouache, focussing on great swathes of colour swirling across the hills and lakes of Killarney's landscape.

FAREWELL RSR
A B-burago 1:24 Porsche 911 RSR repainted to the #93 2023 livery. Finished with a gold plaque.
I wanted to paint something to commemorate the RSR's last race that was small enough to fit into hand luggage but no less impressive for it. After close to 40 hours of toil I managed to painstakingly recreate the #93's 2023 livery, including each and every single marque, brand name and logo as well as the fluorescent entrants' decals and driver names.
I took it to the ELMS Grand Season Finale 4 hours of Algarve & Portimão where I presented it to the #93's three drivers and team principal Christian Ried. It is currently at Proton Competition HQ in Germany.

DEUTSCH DESTRIER
WINNER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CREATIVE ARTS YOUCREATE 'FREEDOM' COMPETITION 2022
Singer DLS Porsche 911 with Friesian
Acrylic on board, approx. 594 x 841 mm.
Painted 10 hours, this is my first work which portrays speed by graphically manipulating the background on a larger scale. The black stallion is the horse from Porsche's logo. This was the 2nd part of my A-Level Fine Art Final, which was awarded A*.

AIRS ABOVE THE GROUND
Life-size 1900 mm fully poseable metal horse car part sculpture, displayed in the levade position.
The sculpture contains; E-type Jaguar wheel rim shells (head), a Fast Ford exhaust pipe (neck), a Subaru WRX exhaust (neck), an Alfa Romeo Giulia grille crest 1964-72 (chest), a Flat cage (armature), Ironing Board Legs (support), Hand-cut aluminium panels (body), Hand-sculpted chicken wire (head & face detail), Wire mesh (neck outline & tail), Bronze wire (eye & nostril detail)
For my A-Level Fine Art Final, I originally wanted to sculpt a realistic horse head bust out of car parts interwoven with wire. I finished my project far too quickly, and after spending a further week rendering a life-size hyper-realistic painting of my bust I decided there was no reason not to extend the bust into a whole horse. It took a further month of planning and surprisingly precise engineering to bring my vision to reality. I designed the sculpture to be fully poseable with moving joints to facilitate assembly but ultimately decided to display the horse in the levade pose, a figure of airs above the ground, the highest attainable level of Classical Dressage.

STUTTGART
300 mm Metal wire sculpture of a horse
In the midst of painting-focused coursework, my art teacher challenged me to begin sculpting. This is my favourite work produced during that period, a bare armature of Porsche's rearing horse, created by casting a length of 1mm wire into an approx. 100mm concrete base and twisting the remaining wire into the shape of the horse by hand.
The horse is a three dimensional render of Stuttgart's coat-of-arms, which features in the centre of Porsche's logo in recognition of the automaker's origins. To the untrained eye it does bare similarities to Ferrari's horse. The difference between the two is Porsche's horse is rearing while Ferrari's horse is performing a courbette; one of the airs above the ground where a horse does a series of hops while standing upright on its hind legs.

ITALIAN STALLION
Ferrari 458 Italia with horse - acrylic on A1 board, approx. 594 x 841mm.
A-Level Fine Art Mock Exam. For my first attempt at combining my love for cars and horses in art, I took my favourite production model & 'dream car' and painted it underneath my favourite horse at the time, a blue roan American Quarter Horse stallion.
The horse's unique coat colour appears almost silver, echoing the Ferrari logo in the centre of the 458's grille.

F40
Ferrari F40 driving down a highway in Japan from a photograph by Mark Riccioni - acrylic on sketchbook paper approx. 170 x 250 mm.
My second ever original work depicting a car, this was the 2nd experiment using graphic elements to depict speed for coursework in my Fine Art A-Level sketchbook. Having learned from the first attempt, this version is far more coherent. Unsatisfied with Drifters, I decided to make the graphic elements in this piece less obvious and more refined. For instance, the background cityscape is merely a wash instead of detailed paintwork to reflect the blur of it whizzing past the eye of the beholder.

DRIFTERZ
Red Bull Driftbrothers' BMW E30 & Nissan 200SX pickup with graphic background inspired by Artist Tim Lazell & photographer Marc Riccioni - acrylic on sketchbook paper approx. 170 x 250 mm.
My first ever planned original work depicting a car, this was the 1st experiment to use graphic elements to depict speed for coursework in my Fine Art A-Level sketchbook. Looking back, although the cars are as near to pitch perfect as possible given how small the details are, the background is messy and doesn't really make sense. If all the thick graphic lines were following the same curve, for instance, the overall effect would be far more successful.
